Child-Led Play Based Learning​
Child-led means allowing children to make choices in what activities they want to do. Taking their input on what toys and materials to provide for the children to use. Allowing them to make choices builds confidence and independence. Allowing them to choose what, when and how they play (within reason) makes it easy for children to get fully engaged in their play and therefore fully engaged in learning. ​

Play Based learning: The best learning happens through play. When children get to play they get to choose where to begin and end. They get to see cause and effect. They get to ask questions. Caregivers provide toys, materials, opportunities and time. Taking a step back, watching as they "just play" and seeing what they're seeing can show so many things that they're learning. Children are naturally curious. They want to ask questions and make sense of the world around them. They want to learn.

*Various activities will be offered through the week during outdoor or indoor play time. Children will be invited to join but not required to participate. ​​

Outdoor Play
Fresh air, vitamin D and space to run and play. Outdoor play encourages good physical and mental health. Building good habits early sets children up for a healthy life.

Process Art and Sensory Play
Process art focuses on the creation of art and less on the end product. Allowing children to be creative with the provided materials supports their creativity and learning. Art and sensory play often go hand in hand. Allowing children to touch, feel, squish and use materials in different ways supports them learning about how those materials work and interact with different things.

Risky Play
Risky play teaches children to trust their bodies and grows their confidence. Children are required to problem solve and learn to assess risks for themselves.
